Title: All in the Details
Theme Choice: These are pictures of my friend's wedding details.. Her gown, bouquet, souvenirs, their wedding rings and the unity candles I made for them. I decided to make a simple layout so the photos will show and not be focused on other embelishments.
Techniques: Drop Shadow for the small frames and cropping it to circles.
Software Used: Adobe Photoshop 7.0
I used the photo of the gown on the larger part of the layout. I cropped the other detail photos into circles and added the frame then drop shadowed it. I added a title and a swirl as photo corner.

I love this photo of my little girl because I never want her to lose that sense of awe and wonder even when she grows older. I hope that she will always be amazed at everything she experiences and that she will not take even the everyday ordinary things for granted.
I drew my inspiration from the paper layouts of the Scrapbook Exchange ladies and tried to duplicate the "cutting with an X-acto knife" technique by extracting the design from the Tinkering Ink Victoria paper and then I layered it on top of the bg paper and the photo and applied shadows. I then applied glitter styles to the edges to simulate applying glitter IRL to the cutout.
Techniques : Extraction, Layers, Drop Shadows, Blending, Glitter Styles, Texturizer
Software: PSCS3
Materials Used: Tinkering Ink Digital - Covent Garden Collection: Victoria paper, Alphabets, Michelle Coleman - Edge Overlay

Under The Sea105 viewsJILL LIM
Theme Choice: My daughter loves Ariel the mermaid and she would always ask me where Ariel lives. I try to describe to her the world under the sea and decided to create a LO for her. I used a picture of my niece and daughter while they were swimming in a pool and decided to use the picture to create this under the sea LO.

Techniques Used: Layering, adjusting opacity, adjusting hue and saturation of alphas, masking, drop shadows. text on a path, blending, layering, smudge.

Software Used: Adobe Photoshop

Other Materials Used: Saxton Holt Kit

The Process: I used the smudge tool to make the subjects look like they are under water. Aside from this, i also adjusted the opacity, hue and glow of some embellishments to give a "watery" effect to this LO.

Love Blooms106 viewsALBY LARAN
This layout is about how our relationship as husband and wife continues to blossom as the years go by. My journaling talks about the little things we do to nurture our marriage.
Software: Adobe Photoshop (Creative Suite 2)
Materials: Papers - Promise Collection from Shabby Princess (Notepaper, Daisy, Leaf, Poppy, Stripes, Sunshine, Swirlie Girl); Color My World by Rhonna Farrer (2Ps) – Green Paper (Recolored to Blue and placed on center of the page)
Accents - Promise Collection from Shabby Princess (Butterfly, Flowers, Staple, Floral garden); Ronna Penner Express Yourself Paperclip 4
Fonts: Distressed Alphas (Michelle Coleman); Caflisch Script Pro (Adobe)
Journaling: Daily “I love you’s”. Kisses throughout the day – when we part ways in the morning, when we reunite at night, before going to bed. Ring ceremony every morning. Monthsary celebrations. Date nights. These are just some of the ways we nurture the seed of love planted in our hearts by our God, the author of love.
“Hidden Journaling”: To do’s: 1.Call restaurant to reserve a table for two. 2. Hide the Monthsary card in Ariel’s lunch bag.
Fonts: Distressed Alphas (Michelle Coleman); Caflisch Script Pro (Adobe)
Techniques: Desaturated the photos and adjusted the opacity to make them stand out against the colorful papers and accents; I also adjusted the sizes; Created the torn notebook page by deleting some areas of the punched holes from the notebook paper; Created the torn paper effect on the pockets by using the eraser and brush tools; I used clipping mask to “cut” the patterned paper into the title; Created a text path around the butterfly for my main journaling; I “cut” and colorized the patterned paper to turn it into ribbon strips. I applied color burn brush on the edges for more texture; I cut a small triangle from a patterned paper and warped it for the folded effect. I used color burn brush to create gradations on the piece of paper; Resized and rotated the flowers to embellish the page; Applied drop shadows to the page elements to create a 3D feel; Colorized the green paper to make it blue, resized it to fit the center of the page, adjusted opacity to make the background paper show through.
The process: I already knew which pictures to scrap so they were my inspiration. My choice of digital elements depended on whether they will fit my photos. Since I have 3 photos to scrap, I started with a sketch so I can visualize how my page would look like. This is how I usually do my page, that’s why I have an idea notebook where I do my sketch before I execute. Then I scoured my digital kits (mostly free!) for the perfect page elements. Good thing Shabby Princess just released a new free kit (Promise Collection) and I love everything about it! It was perfect. The kit actually gave me the inspiration for the title. I also knew that I want to apply a couple of techniques I’ve learned – torn paper, text path, re-coloring of elements, etc. I also love putting pockets in my paper layouts so I want to put some in this digital layout as well. Once I have the photos positioned and the torn paper in place, everything else just fell into place.

I chose this photo to be the subject of my page because it's summer and summertime
means travel and vacation! This is one of my favorite photos of my friends and me on
our roadtrip to Bicol in 2003.

I chose the white paper so that when you look at the page the focus would be on the
picture. The green paper matches the green in the photo. The colors of the elements
are neutral so as not to draw attention away from the photo. I warped the
dropshadows for a more realistic "lifted" look. I recolored the alpha to match the
other elements. I also manipulated the photo a little to make it look brighter and
so that the background, which is Mayon Volcano, would be more visible. I also used
Teya's defog action to sharpen the photo.

A Father's Love82 viewsLEIZL CANONEO
Title: A Father’s Love

Theme Choice: The father is my colleague at work and he just recently had a daughter. I loved this picture that he sent me of him and his daughter when she was born. I totally fell in love with it and together with the other photos that he sent, I will be making an album out of it to give as a gift.
3. Techniques Used – I wanted it simple but with a little twist so what I did was to use asymmetrical papers. I also used soft colors so that it could complement the filtered photo that I used for the layout.
Software Used: Adobe Photoshop CS3 and Virtual Photographer for the photo filter
Kit Used: Pure Love from Scrapbook Your Own Website @ ScrapWow; Brown Doodle and Lavender Sparkle Frame from Bunnies & Butterflies by Designs by Shelle @ ScrapWow; Swirl from All My Heart Sample by Jan Hosford @ Digital Freebies; Font: Pea XOXO Karen

Basically, I chose a pastel-inspired color theme for the layout to highlight the emotion of the photo that I filtered in black and white using Virtual Photographer. I arranged the papers asymmetrically to give a little twist to a simple layout that I had in mind. I wanted to come up with a layout where the focus would be more on the photo and the journaling that I personally wrote

I Need You More93 viewsSUZANNE VILLANUEVA
Journaling reads: "Yes it was my idea to send you to your grandparents' house tonight for a sleepover. Yes, it was I who insisted that you spend the night with them. But guess who was saddened when you left - ME! The house was so silent with only me and your dad. There was no "Mommy, please clean me up!" or "Mommy, more milk please!" or "Mommy, read me a book and I will (insert your bribery here)! I was even able to scrap a page of you, which I usually do when you're asleep. But it is different when you're not around. It is so different to not see you fast asleep from where I sit as I work on my laptop. I missed you terribly that I can't wait to see you again the following day! This experience just reminded me of whwhat I already knew (but sometimes forget): that you are an extension of myself and even though you it is obvious that you need me, the fact is, I NEED YOU MORE."

Techniques/Process: Duplicated the photo and enlarged one of them. Changed the blending into overlay. The smaller copy was turned into black and white. The glitters were recolored to fit the layout by adjusting its Hue/Saturation. Shadowing was also applied.

On Letting Go97 viewsKAJE
I've always wanted to scrap this photo of Me (shot by Brother in Law) but never had the inspiration to do so. Thinking about this challenge, I realized the personal state I am in now -- that of being not content and not exactly happy with everything that's going on in me and my surroundings. So I chose the theme: Letting go and then I came across the lovely quote by Tina Turner that says: “Sometimes you've got to let everything go - purge yourself. If you are unhappy with anything . . .whatever is bringing you down, get rid of it. Because you'll find that when you're free, your true creativity, your true self comes out.” So there, this is the layout I came up with :)

Software: Photoshop CS2

Techniques used: Blending and Adding Drop Shadows; Burning the edges using some brushes; "Stamping" the butterfly with a brush.
